Acne is a skin condition whereby the oily glands of the skin clogs, forming pimples, spots, and even a times cysts. Three-Quarter of the people in the age bracket of 11-30 develop acne. It always appears on the face, back, neck, upper arms, and shoulders. Acne is not dangerous at all just that it can leave scars. The following tips will help you eliminate acne.
Refrain from Harsh Scrubbing
Most people suffering from acne think using rough washcloths, or cloth pads help eliminate acne. Instead, this causes skin irritation and inflammation that makes the acne breakouts even worse. Using a gentle cleanser with clean hands or soft brush on the face helps to prevent pimples.
Keep Hair Clean
When excess oil on the hair travels to the skin, it worsens acne. Regular washing of the hair especially close to the hairline helps stop acne from developing. Avoid touching your face with hair gel or spray since these can clog your skin pores and lead to breakouts.
Avoid Picking and Popping Your Acne
You may think that popping a pimple is the fastest way to clear it up. In the real sense, it is the most dangerous step you can think of since it will just worsen the situation. Every time you find yourself touching, picking or popping the pimples on your face, know you are aggravating the condition.
Eat a lot of Carrots
Add Turmeric to your Diet
Turmeric has antimicrobial anti-inflammatory and antiseptic properties that help reduce inflammation and redness of acne. You can also apply it directly on the skin before going to bed and wash it in the morning.
Reduce Sugar Intake
Reduce the level of sugar intake to once a week. Taking fruits is okay but stick to berries and melons. Sugar has significant damage especially to someone suffering from acne. It spikes the insulin which revs the hormones and the adrenal glands. Therefore, it is safe to use sugar once a week and don’t take much of it.
Avoid Excess Sun Exposure
During the acne breakout it proper to protect yourself from sun exposure. The ultraviolet rays stimulate pigment-producing cells which increase the risk of acne scarring. The best way is to get the appropriate amount of sun daily for about 15 to 20 minutes. You can use olive or coconut oil to protect you from the harsh rays if at all you have to work under the sun. If possible, avoid the sunlight especially during the peak hours that is from 10 am to 3 pm every day.
